WELCOME TO THE NEW BLUESCENTRIC WEBSITE!

“You know what, man, if you can play the blues, baby, you can do anything. Don’t worry about playing me.” – Ray Charles’ encouragement to Jamie Foxx on how to portray the pianist

This Bluescentric Brand premium Monterey Pop Festival Long Sleeve T-Shirt is available in sizes up to 5XL! This is a pre-shrunk 100% heavy cotton (athletic heather 99%) 6.0 ounce long sleeve tee. Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem.

It was the hottest ticket of 1967 -- June 16, 17 and 18 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds featured performances by Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, The Grateful Dead, The Butterfield Blues Band, Booker T and the MGs, and The Who's first-ever U.S. performance, where Pete Townshend smashed his guitar in a famous finalé.

It was also Jimi Hendrix's U.S. debut, so not to be outdone, he set fire to his own guitar "as a sacrifice".

MPOP would be the blueprint for nearly all music festivals that came after, including Woodstock two years later.

This design is drawn from an original 1967 Monterey Pop day-two front stage ticket. The text reads Monterey International Pop Music Festival, June 17th, 19967 and the location, Monterey County Fairgrounds.
