“Listen. The greatest feeling I ever had in my life — with my clothes on — was when I first heard Diz and Bird together in St Louis, Missouri back in 1944.” – The opening line of Miles Davis’ Autobiography

Slugs in the Far East was a jazz establishment, located in Manhattan’s East Village. The clubat became legendary in the 1960s and early 70s for its raw atmosphere and perfect breeding ground for experimental jazz music from legends like Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman and Lee Morgan -- who was killed at the venue in 1972.
