“After… driving many of my friends away by making weird noises while experimenting with my voice, I finally learned a few of the basic techniques of this fascinating group of vocal styles … of the blues greats of the past – especially Charlie Patton, Tommy McClennan, and Chester “Howlin’ Wolf” Burnett.” – Artist Paul Pena

There's little doubt that rock n roll was born with Memphis' Sun Records in the mid-1950s. Sam Phillips started recording the blues, and captured the voices of new talent from the area, like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. The rest was rockabilly history. This band shirt design features the famous yellow Sun Records logo, and it says "Where Rock n Roll was Born" and the year of Sun's founding, 1952. The bottom reads "Memphis, Tennessee".
