“[John Coltrane] was studying Buddha sometime near the last gig [of his life] and found that there was a chant where you could pound your chest and it would change the sound of your voice. He wanted to get that quiver on the horn, and when he couldn’t get it, he’d put the horn down, beat on his chest and scream into the microphone. People really thought he’d lost his mind then.” – Rashied Ali, drummer for John Coltrane

This is the special XLT version of this Paul Butterfield Blues Band T Shirt.

Every sale of this official Butterfield Blues Band merch directly benefits Paul Butterfield's estate, because Bluescentric cares about the music.

One of the most influential harmonica players of the 20th century, Paul Butterfield was born into the blues during Chicago's 50s blues explosion. Along with his own celebrated albums like East-West and his self-titled debut, Butterfield played harmonica on Muddy Waters' Fathers and Sons and The Muddy Waters Woodstock Album.
