The Allman Brothers’ Duane Allman died from a motorcycle crash on October 29, 1971, at the age of 24. The Brothers’ bassist Berry Oakley died in a similar motorcycle accident barely over one year after — and only two blocks from the site of Duane’s accident.

Chas Chandler, a founding member of The Animals, also discovered Jimi Hendrix — changing his name from Jimmy to Jimi, staking his first single “Hey Joe”, and acting as Hendrix’s manager until production of the Electric Ladyland album.
