Paramount Records was actually founded by the Wisconsin Chair Company. They had made phonograph cabinets and needed records for people to play on them. So they recorded the likes of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Ma Rainey and Tommy Johnson.

George Clinton and fifteen members of Parliament-Funkadelic were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
