Woodstock Festival was run out of their original venue in Wallkill, NY, and almost didn’t happen until Max Yasgur offered his dairy farm with wide, sloping hills. The site is now a museum dedicated to Woodstock.

Jimi Hendrix and Neil Young had to steal a pickup truck to get to Woodstock ’69 to play their sets.
