Producer Lou Adler created the modern music festival with 1967’s Monterey Pop Festival, produced hit records for The Mamas & The Papas, Carol King, Cheech & Chong, and popular counter-culture movies The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cheech & Chong’s Up In Smoke, and the Monterey Pop documentary. He was inducted in to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Pink Floyd’s original lineup was Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason. Classmate David Gilmour joined the group in ’67 to help cover for (and eventually replace) Barrett.
