Aretha Franklin’s first recording session at FAME Studio was marred by drunken jealousy from her (later ex) husband, ending in a fistfight between him and FAME owner Rick Hall. They only finished one song, but it was a good one — “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)”.

The colorful cast of happy creatures, high heeled statues and flying spoons dancin’ on CCR’s lawn in “Looking Out My Back Door” was inspired by Dr. Seuss’s “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.”
