Paramount Records was actually founded by the Wisconsin Chair Company. They had made phonograph cabinets and needed records for people to play on them. So they recorded the likes of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Ma Rainey and Tommy Johnson.

TOTO co-founder David Paitch’s father was Marty Paitch, well known as an arranger and musician with Ella Fitzgerald, Art Pepper, Buddy Rich, Ray Brown, Shorty Rogers, Pete Rugolo, and others.
