The backup shouters on Big Joe Turner’s #1 hit “Shake, Rattle and Roll” are actually Atlantic Records founders Ahmet Ertegun and Jerry Wexler.

Woodstock Festival was run out of their original venue in Wallkill, NY, and almost didn’t happen until Max Yasgur offered his dairy farm with wide, sloping hills. The site is now a museum dedicated to Woodstock.
