John Lennon was scheduled to be in the studio when Tom Petty was recording 1981’s Hard Promises, but was murdered before he could arrive. The album’s first pressings had the the phrase “WE LOVE YOU J.L.” etched into the run-out groove.

Cheech and Chong's self-titled Grammy-nominated first album debuted in 1971. Predating their hit first movie by 6 years, the album featured the a number of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong's comedy routines, including "Blind Melon Chitlin" about an old bluesman, and the fan-favorite "Dave".
