American guitarist Tom Scholz, founder of the band Boston, wrote his first songs & invented his own instruments to play them, while he was working on achieving an engineering degree from MIT.

Before being discovered, Howlin’ Wolf hosted a radio show in KWEM in West Memphis, Arkansas where his house band included Matt “Guitar” Murphy (later of Blues Brothers Fame), Junior Parker and Willie Johnson.
