Rock band Iron Butterfly didn’t know they were being recorded in the studio for 17 minutes when they played their now-hit song In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida — it sold thirty million units.

While Waylon Jennings was recording his album “I’ve Always Been Crazy” in 1977, federal agents stormed the recording studio trying to bust Jennings for drugs, which they didn’t find. He was inspired to write “Don’t You Think This Outlaw Bit’s Done Got Out of Hand?” after the experience.
