Where Charlie Parker got the name “Bird” is a mystery — In one story, Parker as a young man would practice playing saxophone in parks, far enough away from residences that he wouldn’t be hassled.

While Waylon Jennings was recording his album “I’ve Always Been Crazy” in 1977, federal agents stormed the recording studio trying to bust Jennings for drugs, which they didn’t find. He was inspired to write “Don’t You Think This Outlaw Bit’s Done Got Out of Hand?” after the experience.
